- A Big Data Analysis on University Internationalization Discourses during the COVID-19 -
This study analyzed keywords and topics on how COVID-19 affected the university internationalization using news big data and discussed the university internationalization in the COVID-19 era. To this end, a total of 649 news reports from February 15, 2020, to February 15, 2022, were subjectively modeled (LDA). Drawing on the five topics, it was possible to understand the way COVID-19 affected the university internationalization. Based on the analysis results, the following results were obtained. First, the most important topic about the university internationalization during the COVID-19 period was related to online education. These discussions included the urgent conversion of non-face-to-face lectures, the issues related to the quality of online lectures, and discussions on whether to conduct online lectures and face-to-face lectures, which emerged regularly depending on the period. Second, topics on various effects of COVID-19 on universities were also found to be important. It was found that these changes went beyond simple and temporary changes to institutional changes. Third, topics related to the current status and crisis of universities were highlighted. The crisis of universities caused by COVID-19 has appeared in diverse ways. In particular, university financial problems and challenges for local universities have emerged remarkably. Finally, topics about the challenges that students directly encounter also stood out as important. Such challenges include difficulties in taking classes due to online classes, inability to properly lead college life because of limited access to campus, and difficulties related to searching for a job. Based on these research results, this study provided suggestions for follow-up studies.

코로나19 시대 대학국제화에 대한 빅데이터 분석
본 연구는 대학국제화 관련 뉴스 빅데이터를 바탕으로 코로나19가 대학국제화에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지를 키워드와 토픽을 도출하여 분석하였으며, 이를 통하여 코로나19 시대와 코로나19 이후 시대의 대학국제화에 대한 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 2020 년 2월 15일부터 2022년 2월 15일까지 보도된 649건의 뉴스를 토픽 모형화(LDA)를 수행하 였으며 5개의 토픽을 통해 대학국제화에 코로나19가 어떤 영향을 미쳤는지 파악할 수 있 었다. 분석 결과를 바탕으로 다음과 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 먼저, 코로나19 시기의 대학국제화에 대한 가장 중요한 토픽은 온라인 교육과 관련한 것이었다. 이러한 논의들은 긴급한 비대면 강의 전환이나 온라인 강의의 질과 관련한 문제, 시기에 따라 정기적으로 대두된 온라인 강의와 대면 강의 실시 여부에 대한 논의 등을 포함하고 있었다. 둘째, 대 학에 대한 다양한 영향에 관한 토픽도 주요하게 나타났다. 이러한 변화는 단순하고 일시적 인 변화를 넘어서 제도의 변화까지도 가져온 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대학의 현황과 위기 에 관한 토픽이 부각되었다. 코로나19로 인한 대학의 위기는 다양하게 나타나고 있으며 특 히 대학재정의 문제나 지방대학의 문제가 두드러지게 나타났다. 마지막으로 학생들이 직접 적으로 겪는 어려움에 관한 토픽들도 중요하게 부각되었다. 이러한 어려움은 온라인 수업 으로 인한 수강의 어려움과 캠퍼스에 대한 제한적 출입으로 대학 생활을 제대로 영위하지 못하게 된 것, 또한 취업과 관련한 어려움 등 다양하게 나타나고 있었다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 바탕으로 후속 연구를 위한 제언이 제시되었다.
